Intelligent Animation is a genre of independently-produced* animated works geared towards a specific type of mature viewer. Free from the heavily crude, violent or risqué content which modern 'adult' cartoons have been labelled with, IA focuses on witty, frequently plot-driven works that are essentially accessible by anyone.

IA is not stuck-up, pompous or arty for art's sake. It can be silly, dark, emotional or edgy - what all IA productions have in common is that they are not forged to appeal to demographics or target audiences. IA keeps in mind that the age of a person doesn't determine their maturity or capacity to deal with particular subject matter. In conclusion, IA lets the viewer decide what he or she can handle.

I hope to expand this network in the future.

In rare cases, cartoons worthy of the IA title have been produced by studios. Examples of such works are "Codename : Kids Next Door", "Ed Edd and Eddy", "Dexter's Laboratory", "Freakazoid", "Sheep in the Big City", "Kappa Mikey", "Phineas and Ferb", "Animaniacs". Some of these have run longer than others.
